Ambitious Target and a long way to go:![]() wind farm 9 March 2007 was a momentous day for renewable energy in the European Union. All European Union member states agree to increase the amount generated from renewable sources up to 20% by 2020. ... A legislation welcomed by all the renewable energy industry sectors with very positive notices. This agreement came at the right time for them. It comforts their position in this key part of the world. The wind energy sectors has the most promising future. We may foresee an expansion of the offshore wind farms, thus avoiding the quarrels usually arising with neighbours of disclosed planned ground projects. Researches on the bio fuel industry are aimed to substitute the use of corn and other food items to raw grass and flora. They could grow rapidly without the need of fertilizers and free the arable lands for feeding the ever growing human population. ![]() Solar PV panel The PV Cells solution, although the most elegant answer to the actual energy dilemma, didn't yet keep its promise of cheap renewable energy from the sun. Made from silicon, they suffered the ever rising feedstock price. A lot of researches are on their way in distant part of the world: South Africa, Australia, new Zealand, USA, Germany ... Surprisingly, in the United State too there is a positive state of flux for renewables. Especially since the influence of the democrats majority continues to affect the policy development. It must be also mentioned that the individual states are far more concerned than the Federal Administration: California is leading there the fight against the global warming. {moscomment} |
